Welcome to Ethan Newman and Zhuojun Xie
Two new PhD students join the lab this autumn, working on nanoneedle-engineered CAR-Tregs and on how nanoneedle geometry shapes the way cells take up cargo.

We’re delighted to welcome two new PhD students to the lab.
- Ethan Newman joins us from the University of Manchester, where he completed an MSci in Biochemistry. He is engineering hypoimmunogenic CAR-Tregs with our nanoneedle delivery platform, with the aim of scaling the approach through a GMP-compatible workflow.
- Zhuojun Xie trained in dental medicine and orthodontics at Sichuan University. She is studying how nanoneedle geometry influences cellular uptake and the signalling pathways it triggers, to guide the design of nanoneedle-based therapies.
Welcome to the team!
